The album was recorded in studios across the Cotswolds and Welsh Borders, with Plant confirming he began working on the roots and folk-inspired sound during the Coronavirus pandemic.
Burr Island were confirmed as special guests for the tour too, likely opening on each performance. The alternative folk duo had previously received praise from Plant, as well as fellow music legends Paul Weller and Pete Townshend. A tracklist for the Saving Grace album can be found below.

- It’s a Beautiful Day Today
- Soul of a Man
- Ticket Taker
- I Never Will Marry
- Higher Rock
- Too Far from You

The album features classic songs written by the likes of Blind Willie Johnson and traditionals with added work from Plant and Sam Amidon. Amidon, as well as Donovan Leitch and Plant, serves as the arranger of the song on traditionals like As I Roved Out, Chevrolet, and Gospel Plough.
Gospel Plough may be familiar to Bob Dylan fans, with the folk hero covering the song frequently in his early years. The track features on several bootlegs from the veteran songwriter, and could be one for The Bootleg Series‘ rumoured next instalment. Fans believe an early years compendium of songs from 1956 to 1963 is in the works.
