Paul McCartney is set to announce a new run of live shows, according to fans who believe one appearance confirms it.
The Beatles and Wings legend appeared in London today (June 22) and made a visit to MPL Communications. While the details of the visit are currently under wraps, it is believed that McCartney was present to sign off on his next world tour. Speculation over the reason for McCartney’s stop-off in London has seen fans share their thoughts on what could be brewing behind the scenes. A tour to follow the release of The Boys of Dungeon Lane, McCartney’s first studio album in six years, could be in the works. A post to the Diário dos Beatles fan page on Facebook shared photographs of McCartney outside MPL. The last visit McCartney made to MPL was followed closely by a tour announcement, according to the source.
They wrote: “When Paul McCartney goes to MPL, like last year, it’s to sign contracts for the shows, because after his visit, the shows were announced!” Other fans have speculated over when a tour announcement could come. One observant fan who took to the r/PaulMcCartney subreddit pointed out that, the last two years, a McCartney tour announcement was made in either June or July.
They wrote: “June and July, the months when tours are announced. Paul’s manager confirmed a tour for this year; now all that remains is to find out when the dates and venue announcements will be released. Personally, if Paul wants to do a tour, as long as he’s fit, that’s fine.”
Another fan added: “Fingers crossed for something sooner rather than later. Looked at the O2 Arena listings for November/December this year and booked hotels (Free cancellation). Want to hear Wonderful Christmastime live. Suppose he doesn’t owe us fans anything, but still be frustrating, especially with his manager saying it earlier in the year.”
A third shared: “Hoping! I’ll get a ticket wherever he’s performing I really do not care anymore. My life long dream is to be in the same room as him.” McCartney last performed in the UK back in 2024, with four performances. Two shows in Manchester and two in London were all UK fans got from the music legend, who went on to tour across North America in 2025.
McCartney fans are expecting the veteran musician to head out on the road. Some fans have heard unconfirmed rumours of a South American tour, while others are hoping the Got Back tour continues on to Europe and the United Kingdom in time for December. No tour dates or announcements are forthcoming, though hopeful fans believe McCartney will tour and bring his Beatles bandmate with him. A fan took to the r/PaulMcCartney subreddit and asked: “2026 tour? What’s your thoughts on whether or not he’s doing a tour this year, as he will be releasing a new album this month?”
One fan wrote: “There’s no way he’s not touring, but where is the question of the year. And I’ve been watching for Ringo to release his tour plans, but not a peep so far. Could it be a possibility that they do something together? After the couple of years Paul has had, it wouldn’t surprise me. His creativity is soaring, his energy is crazy high, and he keeps coming up with more surprises.”
Another added: “He’s definitely touring this year. He can’t not tour. He’ll probably be playing live until he can’t walk anymore, and then he’ll still he touring for a few years after.”
