Bob Dylan tour hailed by fans as songwriter has ‘stepped up his game’ for Spring tour

Bob Dylan has been praised by attendees of a recent Spring 2026 tour date, with the songwriter seen to have “stepped up his game”.

The veteran performer, 84, confirmed further dates on his North American tour, with newly announced shows in Nashville, Atlanta, and Raleigh set for July and August. Dylan‘s show in Macon, Georgia, last night (April 22) has been hailed by fans as a fantastic performance. Some hope the show has been recorded by bootleggers, as they share their praise for one new addition to the touring lineup. Dylan has performed the same setlist for most shows on the Spring 2026 tour, with much of the Rough and Rowdy Ways album featuring alongside tracks from Oh Mercy, John Wesley Harding, and Time Out of Mind.

A setlist for Dylan’s show at the Macon City Auditorium can be found below.

  • To Be Alone With You
  • Man in the Long Black Coat
  • All Along the Watchtower
  • I Contain Multitudes
  • False Prophet
  • Black Rider
  • Love Sick
  • Goodbye Jimmy Reed
  • I Can Tell (Bo Diddley cover)
  • I’ve Made Up My Mind to Give Myself to You
  • Crossing the Rubicon
  • When I Paint My Masterpiece
  • Forgetful Heart
  • Soon After Midnight
  • Nervous Breakdown (Eddie Cochran cover)
  • Every Grain of Sand

Fans have since taken to the r/BobDylan subreddit and shared their love of the show. One wrote: “EXCELLENT show. I hope there’s a good tape of it. The sound was incredible and a lot of that credit goes to whoever figured out the mic situation where Dylan can sing into one mic for when he’s standing (a surprisingly large portion of the show) and another one for sitting down.

“I guess they are fading those mics up and down depending on where he’s at but I wonder if they aren’t doing something else to isolate them so well and have Bob cut through the mix perfectly.

“The band was on fire and man, Anton Fig is absolutely the right drummer for this era. The two acoustic guitars sounded crystal clear, great detail and dynamics, beautiful playing by Doug Lancio and Bob Britt. It’s been said already about this tour but I love going ‘acoustic’ just lets the band rock out that much harder, instead of trying to play the most restrained and quiet electric guitar possible.

“Dylan also seems to have stepped up his game on the piano/keyboard, or at least seems to be making a lot of great choices and less bum notes sprinkled in (which I don’t mind either, given he’s pretty much just riffing on the fly with that). It’s also a lot of fun watching Tony watch Bob for cues and communicate that to the rest of the band. It’s almost like telepathy the way just the shortest glimpse from Dylan seems to be enough to say let’s end it here, or let’s keep going another 16 bars, etc.”
