Bruce Springsteen and Mick Jagger praised for ‘amazing’ cover of classic song

Bruce Springsteen and Mick Jagger have been praised by fans for their cover of an all-time great song.

Springsteen and Jagger were joined by the rest of The Rolling Stones, as well as George Harrison, for the all-star performance of (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction. The performance took place at the 1988 Rock adn Roll Hall of Fame inductions ceremony, and featured a version of the song that fans believe is an “amazing” example of Jagger’s on-stage talents. Springsteen was also singled out for praise by those who watched the rendition as having the best time, but also in helping Jagger with a heavier version of the song.

One fan wrote: “Love how Bruce is in this. Seems like such a nice, normal guy playing with his heroes.” Another added: “So glad Bruce helped Mick out here. So good seeing George Harrison having fun on stage.” A third wrote: “Mick Jagger is always in his element when he’s performing on stage. He’s so amazing!”

Keen-eyed viewers of the performance also noted a member of The Beach Boys, Al Jardine, can be spotted on guitar for the performance. One fan wrote: “Spot Al Jardine there with his guitar. Underrated Beach Boy.” Others denounced the appearance of Mike Love at the show, where he made his infamous, widely panned speech.

Love said: “The Beach Boys have continued to do, about, we did about 180 performances last year. I’d like to see the Mop-Tops match that! I’d like to see Mick Jagger get out on this stage and do I Get Around versus Jumpin’ Jack Flash, any day now.

“And I’d like to see some people kick out the jams, and I challenge The Boss to get up on stage and jam. I wanna see Billy Joel, see if he can still tickle ivories, lemmee see.

“I know Mick Jagger won’t be here tonight, he’s gonna have to stay in England. But I’d like to see us in the Coliseum and he at Wembley Stadium because he’s always been chickenshit to get on stage with the Beach Boys.”

Springsteen and Jagger would both feature at the show that night, despite Love erroneously claiming The Rolling Stones’ frontman was not at the show. Jagger would even induct The Beatles later that night.

Fans believe Jagger and Springsteen were furious to see Love on stage with them, providing backing vocals and tambourine work. One fan wrote: “Jagger shows Mike Love who’s boss on stage!” Another added: “Mick gives a master class on how to ignore an envious fifteenth-rate ‘artist’ like Mike Love.”

A third joked: “Mike Love next to all of them looks like the guy who thinks he’s popular at the party and no one knows.” Others were simply happy to see members of The Beach Boys, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones all on stage together, and joined by The Boss.

One person wrote: “I enjoy seeing all these legends together having a good time. That’s what it’s all about.”
