A “previously unreleased” song from Supergrass‘ Road to Rouen album has been shared ahead of an anniversary re-release.
The Gaz Coombes-fronted band has confirmed their fifth studio album will be fully remastered and expanded. Road to Rouen will be released on October 3 this year, with the release acting as a celebration of the band’s work, both released and unreleased. Don’t Leave Me Alone, which was recorded during the Road to Rouen sessions, has been released for the first time. The album still serves as a “compact joy” for the group, according to founding member Mick Quinn. A Gatefold 2LP set, as well as a 2CD package, will be released on October 3, 2025.
Speaking on the release, Mick Quinn said: “From a lost winter in the French countryside, we attempted an experimental, uplifting record far outside our comfort zone. Road to Rouen became a compact joy that still holds a cherished place in our hearts. Vive la différence.”
The reissue features unheard live recordings and the entire album has been fully remastered for its 2025 release. It will be available digitally, on a Gatefold 2LP Petrol and Forest Green vinyl with printed inner sleeves and 2CD digisleeve, both physical formats accompanied by a booklet with liner notes written by Mark Radcliffe.
Originally launched on 15th August, 2005, Road To Rouen reached #9 on the UK Top 10 chart. Marking a significant shift for the band, showcasing a more reflective and introspective sound with longer, orchestral arrangements.
To commemorate the twentieth anniversary of the album, a previously unreleased song, Don’t Leave Me Alone, has been shared by the band. A full tracklist for the upcoming Road to Rouen remaster can be found below.
