Kanye West has performed his first show since his UK tour was announced and subsequently cancelled.
The Runaway hitmaker took to Istanbul, Turkey, for a performance last night (May 30) where he performed some of his biggest songs. A handful of unlikely tracks made it onto the setlist, which is notably shorter than the shows West performed in the United States. There, Lauryn Hill and CeeLo Green made guest appearances. West’s show at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium is his first show since April 3, and featured a song West made with Paul McCartney and Rihanna. Also featured were songs from his new album, Bully, as well as pieces from Graduation and The College Dropout.

West had been set to return to the UK this June for three performances in London, his first in the UK in a decade. The last time West performed in the UK was at Glastonbury 2015. The three shows have since been cancelled. The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has said: “The past comments and actions of this artist are offensive and wrong, and are simply not reflective of London’s values.”
Last year, West released a song glorifying Adolf Hitler and was subsequently blocked from entering Australia. The All of the Lights hitmaker is no stranger to controversy, having been dropped by sports brand Adidas in 2022 over West’s antisemitic comments.
West would take out a full-page advert in the Wall Street Journal to apologise in a letter titled To Those I’ve Hurt in January 2026. It, in part, reads: “One of the difficult aspects of having bipolar type-1 are the disconnected moments – many of which I still cannot recall – that led to poor judgment and reckless behaviour that oftentimes feels like an out-of-body-experience.
“I regret and am deeply mortified by my actions in that state, and am committed to accountability, treatment, and meaningful change. It does not excuse what I did though.” West alleged he was diagnosed in 2023, with the condition traced back to a car accident in 2002, The Guardian reported.
