Bruce Springsteen fans share their hopes of a 2026 tour – but one thing may prevent it

Fans of the legendary songwriter Bruce Springsteen are hoping for a tour next year, though one thing may stop The Boss.

The veteran performer behind hits like Badlands, Born to Run and Thunder Road is set to embark on a European tour this summer, with three stop-offs in Manchester, England set for May. But fans of Springsteen in the United States are hoping he will hit the road next year. The chances of this happening are slim, according to fans of The Boss, with fans using the r/BruceSpringsteen subreddit to wonder whether there will be space in stadiums for the show. A post to the Reddit fan group reads: “What is the likelihood of Springsteen and The E Street Band returning for a big concert tour like they did in 2023/24?”

Fans have since pointed out that this current Springsteen tour is off the back of cancelled dates in Milan last summer. The rescheduled dates developed into a series of extra dates across Europe. One fan explained: “This is a funny one to consider, because technically the band is only touring this year because they rescheduled the Milan dates from last summer to this year.

“They added some more dates in Europe to make it worth their while coming over here. Stevie has alluded to the possibility of continuing to tour Europe or do some dates at least every year. They’ve never been as popular here, so it’s natural they’d want to make the most of it.

“I wouldn’t believe anyone who tells you that Bruce is finished touring with the ESB after these shows. I think they’ve a few more years together yet. That said, I could see Bruce start to do some more smaller projects on his own, similar to the Broadway show, perhaps even just touring that show again or some dates in a new venue.

Basically, I don’t think there’ll be massive world tours every year, particularly around the US, but I could see a few more years of regular E Street Band dates in Europe at least.” Another user has suggested a US tour next year is unlikely given a sporting event set to take place between June and July.

They wrote: “2026 is the World Cup, this cuts down on Stadium dates.” Another added: “Just through the summer in the US, Mexico, and Canada, though, but the final being in NJ definitely does hurt the chances of [a tour].” A third wrote: “It was going to close down some stadiums, this will make fewer states available for the whole concert world.”

Though the World Cup may prevent Springsteen from touring next year, fans needn’t worry about whether they will see The Boss again as he has made it clear he plans on touring for a number of years yet.

One fan recalled: “Nobody knows. Bruce has been pretty clear that he wants to keep going until he’s literally in the box. Even just looking at this year, he has had many, many months off. How does he spend that time? Who knows!

“Once the band and the entire production are back out on the road, why would he only limit it to Europe? Why not do a stadium tour in the US this year? He could sell out shows in the big markets pretty easily in August and September. I’d love to hear some behind-the-scenes discussions of why he does and doesn’t want to tour in certain years.”
