Bruce Springsteen fans are just realising The Boss loaned his Tunnel of Love car to Jack Antanoff for a Bleachers album cover.
Antanoff, who fronts Bleachers, was seen posing with a familiar-looking vehicle on the cover of the band’s self-titled album. Fans of The Boss and Bleachers took to r/BruceSpringsteen and shared the sighting. One wrote: “My mind was blown when I discovered that, in fact, the car is Bruce’s, and he lent it to Jack for those photos. I love these guys so much!” Other fans of Bruce Springsteen shared their love of the car, saying you could often spot it in the driveway of his Rumson, New Jersey home.
One fan wrote: “Years ago, it was kind of cool that you could see that car parked in Springsteen’s driveway when he lived in Rumson.” Another heaped praise on fellow New Jersey musician Antanoff, with his work “massively influenced” by Springsteen according to one member of the forum.
They wrote: “My favorite New Jerseyians. If you don’t know, Jack Antonoff is a singer, songwriter and producer. He led the band Steel Train before becoming part of what was effectively an indie pop-rock supergroup, Fun, which had a top hit in the early 2010s, We Are Young.
“He started a side project, Bleachers, which became his only band when Fun disbanded. They’ve put out four (fantastic, in my opinion) albums. He is massively influenced by Springsteen, and they worked together on the song Chinatown. Bruce sings on that song, and if I remember correctly, they recorded his vocals at Bruce’s home studio during the pandemic. They played live together at Radio City Music Hall.

“Jack is also a megaproducer, winning Grammys for producer of the year multiple times. He most famously has collaborated with Taylor Swift but has also worked with Lorde, Lana Del Rey, St. Vincent and most recently Kendrick Lamar.”
Another agreed with the Springsteen influence heard in Antanoff’s work, adding: “Jack Antonoff is a producer, singer, and songwriter. He’s in Bleachers, which has a song with Bruce, Chinatown, and the last few albums have a lot of E Street Band influence. You can really feel it in the arrangements, the saxophones, and even the energy of the songs.”
The car is also spotted in the video for Chinatown, according to one member of the forum. They wrote: “Yeah, I saw some die-hard Jack fans talking about it… and in the Chinatown video, Bruce shows up with Jack in the same car.”
