House Proud have organised a “noisy fundraiser” which will take place at The Lubber Fiend in November.
The Sunderland-based band confirmed the November 1 event, which will begin at 6pm, earlier today (August 7). Currently on the line-up are Slap Rash, Onlooker, Fast Blood, and Vibrator. The four bands, from Manchester, Teessider, Newcastle, and Aberdeen respectively, will bring on the “noisy punk night” to raise funds for The Robert Ogden MacMillan Centre.
A statement from House Proud drummer Cole reads: “In May, my Mam was diagonsed with an incurable cancer of the bile duct called cholangiocarcinoma. On the 1st of November, me and the House Proud lads will be hosting a noisy fundraiser for The Robert Ogden Macmillan Centre in Northallerton, the hospital that provides her with the chemotherapy and immunotherapy she needs to kick cancers arse.
“We’ve got a great venue, four noisy bands, an all vegan bake sale and a vinyl record raffle happening, all to raise money for MacMillan. A real cause, making a real difference. Her name is Lisa Lynch.”
A further statement on the Fatsoma site where tickets for the event can be purchased, added: “A noisy punk night raising funds for The Robert Ogden MacMillan Centre. They do fantastic work provide treatments for cancer patients and helping to give them a fighting chance.”

House Proud released new single Farmers earlier this year, following up their EP, Choices. The band will perform at Independent in Sunderland on November 22. Tickets are avaialable from £8.
A description of the event reads: “After the release of Farmers earlier this year, House Proud have been back in the studio to produce their latest offering, Choices EP. Heavy, intense, hard-hitting post-punk, with emotive lyrics, heavy drums and jagged, dissonant detached guitar rhythms are the order of business.
“House Proud are looking to create as much noise and pandemonium as possible for those who’ll lend an ear during their run of shows this November.”
