Bob Dylan fans share summer tour theory as attendees hope for songs they ‘haven’t heard before’

Fans of the legendary songwriter Bob Dylan are hopeful of hearing songs they “haven’t heard before” on the summer leg of the North American tour.

Dylan did not shake up his setlist all that much on the Spring 2026 shows, though it does appear his team has ended the Rough and Rowdy Ways branding. Six songs from his most recent studio album featured on the setlist, as well as tracks from Oh Mercy, John Wesley Harding, and Time Out of Mind. While the setlist may remain the same for this summer, fans believe Dylan could throw out a few new thrills for those heading to see him across his June, July, and August tour dates. Fans took to the r/BobDylan subreddit and shared their thoughts on what could come next for Dylan’s setlist.

The fan wrote: “Bob ended the Rough and Rowdy Ways tour earlier this month and will be beginning the ‘In Concert’ tour in a few weeks. There’s been speculation about what the setlist will look like. The most likely option is that it will resemble the setlist Bob played on the touring Outlaw Music Festival last year, which was rather different than the Rough and Rowdy Ways tour. But with Outlaw, the setlist was really unpredictable, only having five or six mainstay songs with the rest of the set being filled with covers or earlier songs that haven’t been performed in a while.

“So I think Bob was using the Outlaw Music Festival to test out new arrangements of older songs for the next tour. I have a feeling Shadow Kingdom was supposed to do the same, but he wasn’t happy with the end result. So I believe he’ll be playing the new arrangements of ‘Till I Fell In Love With You, Masters Of War, To Ramona, and maybe some we haven’t heard yet. This might seem obvious, or I could be totally wrong, and he only plays All Along the Watchtower with a two-hour jam session. But I’m interested to see how it goes.”

Fans have since joked that a fortieth anniversary date will mark the mainstay of his set. One wrote: “Clearly with it being the 40th anniversary he is just going to play Knocked Out Loaded from start to finish.” It is beyond unlikely that Dylan will perform any songs from the album, let alone the entire project, but some fans say they would love to hear Brownsville Girl feature in his set.

One listener wrote: “I would pay an arm and a leg to see that purely for Brownsville Girl.” Another added: “I’m seeing him in Eugene, OR, in June (the fourth show of the new leg of the tour). I’m hoping it’s not too much like the Outlaw Music Festival tour since I saw him in that last year. We’ll see.”

What Bob Dylan played during his last Spring 2026 show

While Dylan did not change up the setlist to his Spring 2026 show all that much (Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright featured on the opening show of the tour but was dropped afterwards), there is every chance that he makes slight changes or adjustments to the songs featured on the Summer 2026 shows.
