Gorillaz performed a song from their debut album for the second time in twenty-four years at their The Mountain show in Nottingham.
The Damon Albarn-fronted group has featured some of their greatest hits on their recent setlist promoting new album, The Mountain. A roster of special guests appeared in the shows preceding the band’s date at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham, where they pulled a deep cut from their self-titled album. Gorillaz performed a twenty-three song set last night (March 28) and shook up the setlist slightly with the inclusion of Slow Country. It marks not only the tour debut of the song, but also the second time the band has performed the song since 2002.
Gorillaz did perform the song once last year when they performed their debut album in full at the Copper Box Arena in London.

Rarities from their self-titled debut and Demon Days have featured on previous shows, but fans at the Cardiff date were delighted to hear a track featuring Gruff Rhys. The band has performed Superfast Jellyfish just twice since the end of 2022. Superfast Jellyfish was performed by the band after On Melancholy Hill and The Empty Dream Machine.
A full tour of the UK is set to take place, including two dates at Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena and a summer show at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where Sparks will open the show. A full list of shows can be found below.

Further dates, including a headline set at Primavera Sound Barcelona and Rock for People, will also take place this summer. The tour is set to conclude on December 3 in Santiago, Chile. In a five-star review of the album, Cult Following described The Mountain as a return to form for the Albarn-fronted group, who made the most of archival tapes and fresh collaborations.
