Music legend Paul McCartney told fans in Atlanta, Georgia “see you next time” after a marathon, thirty-five-song set.
The Beatles and Wings veteran is touring the United States on his Got Back tour and is playing hits from his discography. McCartney has reintroduced both Coming Up and Help! into his setlist, the latter for the first time in over three decades. Between tributes to George Harrison and John Lennon, as well as a shoutout to the show’s hard-working crew, McCartney suggested he would be back in Atlanta before long. He was seen telling the crowd “see you next time”, and though this could have been a throwaway line from the Let It Be hitmaker, fans will no doubt be hopeful of a return to the stage from McCartney. Whether McCartney makes any changes to his setlist later on the tour is yet to be seen, but the veteran performer will be touring across the US until late November. The massive setlist and Got Back tour comes as McCartney confirms details of a “lovingly curated time capsule” compilation album representing Wings’ decade of music. The album, WINGS, will be released in several formats, including a 1LP and 2CD set on November 7.
McCartney personally curated the song selection, which features classics from Band on the Run and deep cut hits like Arrow Through Me from Back to the Egg. A 3LP set will also be released, which features a hardback slipcase designed by McCartney and Aubrey Powell.
The three-LP set features thirty-two songs from Wings’ back catalogue, including deep cuts like Helen Wheels and Deliver Your Children. The announcement comes as a book on the band is set for release later this year.
A product description for the 3LP Wings collection reads: “WINGS is the ultimate anthology of the band that defined the sound of the 1970s. A lovingly curated time capsule of imagery and music personally overseen by Paul McCartney, WINGS includes thirty-two timeless international hits, including Band on the Run, Live and Let Die, Jet and Let ‘Em In – songs that still feature in his live shows to this day.
“Presented in a hardback slipcase, the 3LP 180g vinyl collection was designed by Paul and Aubrey ‘Po’ Powell of Hipgnosis. The expanded booklet also includes an introduction by Paul plus extensive album-by-album notes on the iconic artwork written by Po, with additional editorial by Pete Paphides and showcases original portraits of the band by Humphrey Ocean. In addition to the booklet, the 3LP set includes a poster.”

To be fair, he said “See you next time” partly because he’s playing 2 shows in Atlanta this tour. He played a show last night and he’s playing again tonight. But hopefully he will be back in another year or two!
