Happy Mondays announce anniversary tour next year including huge show at Manchester O2 Victoria

Happy Mondays has confirmed a huge anniversary tour for next year, celebrating thirty-five years of Pills ‘n’ Thrills And Bellyaches.

The Shaun Ryder-fronted group will perform across the UK and Ireland in March and April next year, with shows in Leeds, London, and Glasgow. The band will also perform a huge show in Manchester at the O2 Victoria, with the band set to be backed by “old mates” The Farm across the tour. Both The Farm and Northside will join the Happy Mondays anniversary tour, with the groups having previously appeared on the Elland Road line-up in 1991. Shaun Ryder, Bez, Mark Day, Gary Whelan, Dan Broad, and Firouzeh Berry confirmed they will be taking to the stage next year. The album featured hit singles Kinky Afro, Step On, and Loose Fit.

Speaking of the upcoming tour, Ryder said: “I’m really looking forward to getting back on tour with the Mondays in 2026, especially with our old mates The Farm who are touring with us.” Bez also confirmed their excitement to be back on tour with Happy Mondays, saying there is “no better feeling” than being in the band.

He said: “Really excited to be going back on tour again in the UK next year! I love being on the road with the Mondays, there is no better feeling than playing to the fans of live music. I’ll see you all next year.”

The Farm lead singer Peter Hooton was also delighted to be joining the tour, with the veteran frontman “absolutely delighted” to be opening for the band on a handful of their shows. He said: “We are absolutely delighted to be joining the Happy Mondays as special guests on their forthcoming tour.

“We go back a long way, having first met them at one of our gigs at the Boardwalk Manchester in 1986, when their style and attitude struck a chord. We also played with them at the legendary Elland Road gig in 1991 and toured with them in 2005, so we can’t wait for these gigs. It will be like a meeting of the tribes once again!”

Northside frontman Dermo added: “It’s like Elland Road all over again, but this time we’re all on tour together. Bring it on!” A full list of scheduled shows can be found below, with tickets available in a venue pre-sale on September 17, before a general sale on September 19 starting at 10am.
