Paul McCartney fans believe setlist for US Got Back tour will be ‘the same as before’

Music lovers are assuming the Got Back tour from Paul McCartney will be “the same as before.”

McCartney is set to tour across the United States later this year, with performances on the Got Back US tour preceding a rumoured album release in 2026. Though unannounced and unconfirmed, fans are getting excited for the allegedly nearly finished record and the tour kicking off on September 29. Though fans have just under a month to wait until McCartney takes to the stage for the first time since a trio of surprise performances at The Bowery in New York City, some think they already know what the former Beatles and Wings member will play. One fan took to the r/PaulMcCartney subreddit and asked: “What do you think the setlist will be like for the 2025 tour?

“I assume it’s the same with a couple of songs switched out?” Fans believe this will be the case, and cited the massive setlists McCartney had played in the past as proof of this. One suggested: “Believe me, the songs and the flow of the concert are amazing and well worth the $$$$.

“Paul is awesome and funny! Yes, his voice is showing his age, but hearing him sing the songs we all love is priceless. Soundcheck is where you’ll hear the deep cuts!” Those who want to get into the soundcheck will have to pay the “pricey” cost of “$1600”, if tickets are available, that is.

Another user suggested: “The same as the last tour… and the one before that… and the one before that. Not that there’s anything wrong with that!” A third agreed, adding: “Pretty much. I’m a long-time fan (about 30 years now), but going to my first concert in October.

“I’d probably love a deep cuts concert or something with less obvious selections. But honestly it’s probably the only time I’m going to see him live and I sure want to hear Hey Jude, Let It Be, and Band On The Run.”

There were some suggestions that McCartney could introduce new Beatles tracks to his setlist, with the release of Anthology 4 expected towards the end of his US tour. Now and Then, the Grammy Award-winning song which marks the “final” song by The Beatles, was released in 2023 and performed during McCartney’s 2024 shows in the UK.

A fan added: “Maybe it’s possible he’ll swap some things out for other Beatles tunes, or even do one of the Threetles songs, with Anthology being remastered and released.” Another suggested a few new songs from the unreleased album could be included, though this remains a long shot.

They wrote: “He’s been doing the same set list for some time. Added Now and Then. I don’t see any changes unless he plays a few new ones. Songs from his album he said he’d finish.”

A gig-goer does remain hopeful of changes, though, adding: “I’m seeing him the first night of the new tour. I hope he mixes it up a little.”
