However unlikely it may be, fans of Pink Floyd are wondering whether David Gilmour and Roger Waters will ever tour together again.
Despite leaving the band in 1985, Waters has worked with Gilmour, albeit years after the guitarist finally called time on Pink Floyd. The group would last just under a decade with Gilmour at the helm, playing their final show in 1994. While the working and personal relationship between the two music veterans may be fractured beyond repair now, fans are still curious as to what it would take to see the pair reunite on stage. Gilmour has appeared at a handful of Waters’ solo gigs in the past, most notably standing on top of a white brick wall for a performance of Comfortably Numb in 2011. But nearly fifteen years on from that performance, and the pair have yet to reunite.
It seems unlikely given the release of Pink Floyd’s most recent song, which excluded Waters and was recorded as a charity single for Ukraine. Hey Hey, Rise Up! did not feature the veteran bassist, with Gilmour and Waters trading insults with one another on social media soon after the song was shared.
Despite this fractured relationship, fans are wondering whether Gilmour or Waters would tour again, together or otherwise. Gilmour wrapped his Luck and Strange concerts back in 2024, while Waters hasn’t been on the road since 2023. Individually, the two have enjoyed successful solo careers and continue to dip back into the Pink Floyd discography during their live shows.
A post to the r/RogerWaters subreddit reads: “Any news of Roger new album or if he will do any gigs in 2025?” While there is no official word yet, and it may be unlikely to see Waters on the road this year, fans are hopeful of new material and a tour from the bassist.
One fan shared: “Not yet, but give it time. It’s definitely still in the cards.” Another added: “I hope he does announce a new tour, the world needs his message now more than ever.” A third wrote: “I’m literally crossing my fingers he does another show.”
For those wanting to see Gilmour, the chances are slimmer. Some fans believe the guitarist is finished with touring, and are basing that on the “finality” felt at his Madison Square Garden concert.
A fan wrote: “I’m guessing Gilmour is done. I was at the last Madison Square Garden show and there really seemed to be a mood of finality between him and the band.” Another agreed, adding: “Right, and when will he be touring again? He averages 1 tour per decade post Pink Floyd.”
Whether either man goes back on the road is yet to be seen, but fans remain hopeful they see one, or both, of the Pink Floyd members in concert.

I seen pink Floyd the animals concert and him at the tower i think both of them but not together
