Oasis fans wonder if Liam Gallagher’s other group will get back together

Fans preparing for the long-awaited Oasis reunion have since wondered whether Liam Gallagher’s other band will ever get back together.

Following Oasis‘ split in 2009, brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher went on to separate projects. While Noel Gallagher established the High Flying Birds, Liam spent his time fronting another band before breaking the group up and focusing on solo efforts. Though they only released two albums in their short run together, Beady Eye has since received a bit of love from Oasis fans. Some have even called for the group to get back together after the Oasis shows this year, though the chances are slim. One user posting to the r/Oasis subreddit asked: “Do you think we’ll ever get a Beady Eye reunion?”

One user joked that it was not the right time for such a question, given that Gallagher will be touring with Oasis from July. The fan wrote: “This is like finding out The Beatles are getting back together, and then asking ‘but what about Wings?'” Several users have since asked what the point of a Beady Eye reformation would be.

One wrote: “It was a nice little experiment but it’s not gonna happen.” Another joked: Hope not.” A third added: “No. What would be the point?” Fans who are heading to see Oasis are holding out hopes for Beady Eye material at the gigs, though the chances are almost zero.

One user joked: “Sadly no, Liam Gallagher will be having some tour with his side project or whatever. Hope they play a couple of Beady Eye gems at least.” Another suggested there may be hope of a Beady Eye reunion, though it would be “decades” down the line.

They wrote: “Maybe decades down the line if Liam does it just for fun while being semi-retired or something like that.” A third added: “Great band but no, we don’t want nor need when Oasis is reforming.”

Some have suggested Oasis should pay homage to Beady Eye, though the chances of this happening are, also, minimal. One fan suggested: “Open the tour, first song up is The Roller.

Gallagher decided to split up Beady Eye, which featured Gem Archer, Andy Bell, Chris Sharrock, and Jay Mehler, in 2014. His reason for doing so was reportedly due to minimal album sales and slimmer gig attendance.

Archer and Sharrock went on to join Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds once the band’s break-up had been confirmed. Beady Eye were slated to perform at Coachella 2014, though cancelled their appearance. In 2018, Liam Gallagher confirmed a failure to make it big in America, along with the risk of a third album failure, ultimately contributed to the end of Beady Eye.
