Pulp confirms ‘Forty Odd Years’ compilation album will release alongside new studio album ‘More’

Pulp has confirmed the Forty Odd Years compilation album will be released alongside their upcoming eighth studio album, More.

The Forty Odd Years compilation will be featured as a freebie in the June 2025 MOJO Magazine edition. A post to Pulp‘s Instagram confirmed the compilation would release later this year, with the covermount CD featuring a live version of deep cut Sheffield: Sex City, as well a series of BBC Session recordings.

Their post reads: “Do you want to know More? Read all about it, then listen to how we got there. The new issue of MOJO includes the first print interview with Pulp for many long years, and a free covermount CD of live, rare & unreleased tracks. This is what you can hear on Forty Odd Years…” Those who want to listen to Forty Odd Years can pick up a copy from Tuesday (April 15) from all good retailers.

News of a compilation album comes after the band confirmed their first studio album in twenty-four years, More, would be released on June 6. Lead single Spike Island dropped yesterday (April 10), and could not have been a better start for the band.

In Cult Following’s glowing review of the song, frontman Jarvis Cocker and the band find themselves dealing with familiar tones and new surprises. The “earth-shattering” release from the band was given a full five stars in a review posted yesterday.

It reads: “Is this the light of a new day dawning? No, it is Pulp continuing a very high standard they set decades ago and established once more with their live shows. Spike Island is an earth-shattering piece of work, a song which highlights the trust we must have in ourselves to chart our own course.”
