Øyafestivalen confirms Chappell Roan for 2025 headline slot with MJ Lenderman and Wet Leg also announced

Øyafestivalen has confirmed Chappell Roan will be one of three headliners at next year’s festival.

The Oslo, Norway-based festival hosted Pulp, Idles, and Big Thief earlier this year and has already revealed the first few acts of its 2025 lineup. Chappell Roan has been confirmed as one of the main acts, with the viral sensation confirmed by festival organisers earlier today (Tuesday, November 19).

Alongside the Roan announcement, other acts to play at the festival, including Wet Leg, MJ Lenderman, and Anna of the North, were confirmed. Khruangbin, Anna Lille, and The Impossible Green were also confirmed for next year’s festival.

Øyafestivalen 2025 will take place from August 5 to August 9 in Tøyen Park, the city-centre-based festival grounds which has been home to the festival since 2014.

Tickets for the festival are already on sale here. Last year’s Øya festival boasted an impressive lineup including Andre 3000, PJ Harvey, English Teacher and homegrown talents like Tøyen Holding. The festival has consistently boasted some of the all-time great lineups with the likes of Blur, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds and Aurora all playing the festival in the last few years.

Further information on artists announced for the festival is expected over the coming months.

Roan’s headline slot comes amid a series of high-profile appearances including a sold-out tour of the UK and an appearance on Saturday Night Live. The Hot To Go hitmaker has since teased her sophomore album, though no official announcement has been made. Roan will also headline Coachella in 2025 alongside Sabrina Carpenter and Charli XCX.

Wet Leg too could profile new material at the festival after their self-titled debut in 2022. MJ Lenderman is likely to use the festival as a chance to tour his latest album, Manning Fireworks, to audiences across Norway.

Acts like Big Thief used the festival earlier this year to play unreleased material which has, at the time of writing, yet to be officially released.
