Richard Hawley announces best-of compilation record ‘Now Then’ for October release

Richard Hawley has announced new record “Now Then”, a best-of compilation of his solo works from the last twenty years.

The Sheffield legend who worked with Longpigs, Pulp and Arctic Monkeys is set to release the double LP on October 20.

A two-CD set is also to be released, featuring the biggest hits of the Coles Corner mastermind and a slim selection of made-for-TV covers.

Hawley, who recently opened for Pulp at Sheffield Utilita Arena in a double-bill homecoming show, confirmed the release of the compilation, which will release on vinyl and CD.

Digital copies of the record will also be available, with the Olivier Awards winner set to showcase reworkings of Lowedges track The Only Road and Peaky Blinders-exclusive cover Ballad Of a Thin Man within the new release.

Not the Only Road, the Lowedges reworking, was released earlier last month and drummed up fervour over the allegedly named Broken Biscuits compilation.

New words and material for the “incredible, rewarding warmth” on Not the Only Road was mentioned in a review of the track.
