The North American tour of The Mountain continues as Gorillaz brought out a series of special guests for their 20-song set.
The Damon Albarn-fronted band has been touring across the US for the last week, and a stop-off at the Shaky Knees Festival in Atlanta, Georgia, saw the band give The Pink Phantom its tour debut. A post to X praised the variety of special guests featured in the show, with one user writing: “Gorillaz setlist from Shaky Knees Festival in Atlanta, with an incredible lineup of guests!” Gorillaz are no stranger to collaboration and this show proved to be full of featured artists, including Bootie Brown, Kara Jackson, and 6LACK. 6LACK appeared for the tour debut of The Pink Phantom, a Song Machine track that has been performed just 20 times by the band since its release in 2020.

Slight setlist changes have been made on the US tour by Gorillaz, with fan favourite songs cut from the show and replaced with lesser-known tracks. Fans were stunned earlier this week to learn that The Moon Cave had been dropped from their first show in Orlando, Florida. It does not appear that The Moon Cave has returned to the setlist of the US shows.
A fan with a picture of the setlist for the Orlando show took to X and asked how gig-goers felt about the lack of The Mountain songs. Five songs from the album were performed, along with five from Demon Days and five from the band’s debut album.
They wrote: “Gorillaz setlist from the first show of The US and Canada Tour at the Kia Center in Orlando, Florida. How do you feel about the number of The Mountain songs (5…), hits and deep cuts?”
One fan replied: “Can’t believe they’ve dropped The Moon Cave.” Another added: “The Mountain tour doesn’t have The Moon Cave?” The Moon Cave has featured in 27 shows from Gorillaz, with the last performance at La Prima Estate in June of this year. The band has consistently changed up their setlist so The Moon Cave may return to the setlist on a future show.
The song was a staple of Gorillaz shows in the UK and Ireland, with the track featuring on all of the March and April dates.
