A Pulp fan who attended several dates on the band’s More tour has launched a fundraiser to self-publish an account of the group’s performances. Ester Scott announced We Have More: Following Pulp On Tour earlier this month and is looking to raise £1,500 to publish the book. Pulp, the Jarvis Cocker-fronted band, reformed in 2023 and released their first album in 24 years back in 2025. More took the band on a worldwide tour, with the group topping the charts for the first time since 1998’s This is Hardcore.
Scott has since confirmed plans to publish the book in early 2027 should her fundraising goal be reached. The project has so far raised £677 of its £1,500. Donations for the project can be made here. A description of the book has also been shared, with feedback on a My Life Following Pulp On USA Substack post pushing Scott to write a full account of her travels following the band on the road.
She wrote: “The rumours are true and I have written a book. This has been nearly a year in the making and keeping this secret has made me feel like a rather uncomfortable mother hen sitting on her egg, so it’s a relief it’s initially been announced. Thunderbirds are go. In this book, I will take you on my journey from discovering Pulp in my small working-class village of origin to witnessing them perform across the world, and everything that has occurred in between.
“I’ll tell the story as to how modern band culture brings together individuals in which bonds are tied for life; first online, and then on the barrier, all our birthdays coming at once, watching our favourite band arm-in-arm, drenching in sweat and tears. Friends become chosen family as we bond together on urine-covered pavements and feel dread as the time of doors reaches ever closer. We’ve come a long, long way together with so many shared, insanely ridiculous adventures between us; all tied together by the beautiful, neatly tied bow of Pulp’s music.
“I hope to answer your burning questions, including the one I most get asked: ‘how do you do it?’, closely followed by ‘how do you afford it?’ I will give you an insight into how planning and following a tour as a fan truly works, detailing highs and the very low lows of accommodation, travel and budgeting across the world. Every hostel room looks the same in the dark. Your exhausted eyes just want a pillow, anyway.”
An official cover for the book has not yet been revealed, but Scott did note the funds from the Crowdfunder would be used to give the book “the launch it deserves” including physical copies and a “launch evening in the new year.”
She added: “I was blown away by the reception my Substack blog post, “My Life Following Pulp On USA” received at the end of 2024. The feedback, warmth and interest I received documenting my adventures from Chicago to Los Angeles, at the dawn of what-was-to-be More cycle, was overwhelming. Little did I know that band members were reading when they were recording their first album in 24 years. It was the experience of writing that piece that inspired me to put words to the feeel-ings, to document the collective adventures that deserve to be written down. No one but you, no one but you, no one but you.”
