The Cure has left fans wanting more despite their 28-song marathon set in Cardiff, Wales, last night (June 24).
The Robert Smith-fronted group are touring across Europe this year, nearly two years on from the release of Songs of a Lost World. The Cure took to the stage in Blackweir Fields and performed hits from their discography and also a handful of deep cuts from Bloodflowers and Wild Mood Swings. Much of Disintegration and The Head on the Door was performed in their huge headline set, which has left attendees thrilled by a “magical” night in Wales. Those who attended the show took to The Cure subreddit and shared their love of the set, with one person “absolutely blown away” by the massive show.

Those who attended the show have since shared their praise online. One person wrote: “Fucking hell, that was good. You were all beautiful. Robert sang his heart out, what a magical evening.”
Another added: “Absolutely incredible. I’m a big Disintegration head (who isn’t?) and opening with Plainsong was transcendent — to then get Prayers for Rain and Disintegration as well (not always on the setlist as far as I know) felt like divine intervention. What a wonderful night. I’m still buzzing.
“I’m also so glad they’re playing The Last Day of Summer on this tour — an emotional one for me, and it was incredible to hear live. The last time I saw them was on a snowy night in London in December 2022. To pick back up on the hottest day of the year felt very full-circle. Kismet!”
A third shared: “My first time ever seeing them and, even though I knew they would be good live, I was just blown away. Pretty much flawless throughout and HOW he still has that voice at his age is incredible. Burn was the highlight for me, being my favourite of the cure’s work, but they nailed every damn song. Incredible night!”
The Cure will continue their European tour dates across the summer. The band is set to play a headline slot at Wythenshawe Park in Manchester in August. Smith and the band also headlined Primavera Sound 2026, where the veteran frontman could be seen tearing up as he led the band in a huge show.
