Paul McCartney makes ‘special’ announcement less than a week after The Boys of Dungeon Lane release

Paul McCartney has issued a “special” announcement less than a week after the release of his new album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane.

In a message sent to mailing list subscribers, The Beatles and Wings veteran confirmed he had been working on another project with his daughter, Stella McCartney. The rollout of said project was announced earlier today (June 2), and will feature brand new work from McCartney and his daughter. A message shared by the McCartney team reads: “I’ve been working on something special with my daughter, Stella. The Stella McCartney x The Boys of Dungeon Lane t-shirt bundles are now available to order.” The t-shirt and album bundle is live on McCartney’s store now.

A product description reads: “The Boys of Dungeon Lane limited-edition, unisex t-shirt draws inspiration from the imagery and storytelling throughout Paul McCartney’s new music, recalling the pre-fame world described in his songs. The Dungeon Lane street sign from the album artwork is featured front and centre of the organic cotton tee, with two blue tits borrowed from Stella McCartney’s Summer of Love 2026 collection perched on top.

“The Boys of Dungeon Lane is not only the 18th solo album to be released by Paul McCartney; it is a collection of rare and revealing glimpses into memories never-before shared along with some newly inspired love songs, from one of the most culturally significant figures of our time.

“Across the album, Paul turns the lens inward, revisiting the formative years that shaped not only his life, but the very foundations of modern popular culture. In a career defined by timeless storytelling and unforgettable characters, Paul now tells the most personal story of all, his own. The album is his most introspective album to date, taking the listener back to where it all began. These extraordinary new songs find Paul writing with rare openness about his childhood in post-war Liverpool, the resilience of his parents, and early adventures shared with George Harrison and John Lennon long before the world had ever heard of Beatlemania.

“Like his career, The Boys of Dungeon Lane is musically eclectic and sees Paul across an array of instruments and styles showcasing his broad musicality. There’s Wings style rock, Beatles style harmonies, McCartney’s style grooves, understated intimacy, melody driven storytelling, character songs – the common thread being Paul. Includes black vinyl LP, embossed cover artwork, printed inner sleeve and 12-page lyric booklet.”

The Boys of Dungeon Lane released to rave reviews from critics. In a five-star review published by Cult Following, McCartney was praised for his ambitious lyrical and instrumental choices. It reads: “Emotive, open, and some of McCartney’s best writing this century can be found on The Boys of Dungeon Lane. A few highlights, plenty of quality in-between those moments, and a feeling of closure that has lingered on all of his projects since Memory Almost Full.

“Last album or not, it’s irrelevant to the beautiful complexities and that fine line he walks between revisiting his memories and his musical styles. Pairing the two together but expanding on them in a contemporary context is difficult, but McCartney is in excellent form here.”
