Fans of the legendary songwriter Paul McCartney believe The Beatles legend will tour this year, and may even bring Ringo Starr with him.
With The Boys of Dungeon Lane set for release later this year, McCartney fans are expecting the veteran musician to head out on the road. Some fans have heard unconfirmed rumours of a South American tour, while others are hoping the Got Back tour continues on to Europe and the United Kingdom in time for December. No tour dates or announcements are forthcoming, though hopeful fans believe McCartney will tour and bring his Beatles bandmate with him. A fan took to the r/PaulMcCartney subreddit and asked: “2026 tour? What’s your thoughts on whether or not he’s doing a tour this year, as he will be releasing a new album this month?”
One fan wrote: “There’s no way he’s not touring, but where is the question of the year. And I’ve been watching for Ringo to release his tour plans, but not a peep so far. Could it be a possibility that they do something together? After the couple of years Paul has had, it wouldn’t surprise me. His creativity is soaring, his energy is crazy high, and he keeps coming up with more surprises.”
Another added: “He’s definitely touring this year. He can’t not tour. He’ll probably be playing live until he can’t walk anymore, and then he’ll still he touring for a few years after.”
A third shared: “Seems likely, and I think there were rumours about touring Europe towards the end of the year as he did in 2018 and 2024. Gives him a chance to play Wonderful Christmastime in the UK.”
McCartney performed at Apple’s Headquarters in California, United States earlier this week, and fans of the veteran rocker, 83, hope for further dates to follow. McCartney performed two shows at The Fonda Theatre last month, and concluded the Got Back tours in the United States in late 2025. But fans believe further dates in Europe could be on the way to promote his upcoming album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane. A statement from McCartney regarding his most recent show has since been issued by the legendary performer.
He took to Instagram and wrote: “We had a lot of fun playing for the people at Apple at their headquarters in Cupertino. I can’t believe it’s been 50 years since Steve Jobs gave me my first iPhone, but that’s the truth! It was lovely to be there to help Tim Cook and his great team celebrate their birthday.”
Speculation among fans is rife over whether McCartney will announce a European tour for 2026. La Parisien reports that a European tour is in the works for later this year. The French publication wrote: “According to our sources, there should be a tour following the album’s release, with concerts in Europe at the end of 2026.”
McCartney has not toured the UK or Europe since 2024. He performed four shows in the UK, two in Manchester and two in London, on his last outing
