Bob Dylan setlist as Masonic Temple attendees note major change from performer

Bob Dylan’s setlist at the Masonic Temple in Detroit, Michigan, has been noted by fans as quite the change from other Spring 2026 shows.

The veteran performer, 84, ended the Rough and Rowdy Ways tour this year, opting instead for a Spring 2026 showcase. While songs from Rough and Rowdy Ways do feature, Dylan has selected songs from Oh Mercy, John Wesley Harding, and Time Out of Mind for his shows this year. While the setlist remains unchanged from the second performance onwards (Dylan performed Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right on the first Spring 2026 show), attendees noted a huge change from the legendary musician at this show. While usually opting for an electric piano on this tour, Dylan reportedly played harmonica on one of the final songs of the night.

A full setlist for the Masonic Temple performance can be found below.

  • To Be Alone With You
  • Man in the Long Black Coat
  • All Along the Watchtower
  • I Contain Multitudes
  • False Prophet
  • Black Rider
  • Love Sick
  • Goodbye Jimmy Reed
  • I Can Tell (Bo Diddley cover)
  • I’ve Made Up My Mind to Give Myself to You
  • Crossing the Rubicon
  • When I Paint My Masterpiece
  • Forgetful Heart
  • Soon After Midnight
  • Nervous Breakdown (Eddie Cochran cover)
  • Every Grain of Sand

According to Setlist.FM, Dylan played harmonica on the closing song, Every Grain of Sand. It comes after Dylan’s previous show at the Emens Auditorium in Munice, Indianapolis, was praised by fans as the best show of the Spring 2026 tour so far.

One fan wrote: “I have seen Bob Dylan a few times, but this was definitely the best show I’ve been to. I was only a few feet from the stage. He seemed so happy and really engaged with the music; it was amazing! Who else is enjoying the tour?”

One attendee replied: “I was in the front row, such a great performance!” Another added: “It was an amazing show. The crowd was great and had an amazing energy. Bob was great as always, and loved the new arrangements of the Rough and Rowdy Ways songs. I saw him at Elliot Hall sometime last year, and that was almost like a darker atmosphere, but with these new arrangements, they felt a lot lighter and carried the words he’s written in a much different way. Overall, an amazing show!”

A third person asked whether Dylan had been picked up by the microphone, with some fans previously citing difficulties hearing the veteran musician at work. The original poster replied: “Yes! The bottom mic wasn’t really picking him up as well, so he stood for a lot of the concert and really got into the harmonica on Every Grain of Sand.”

The Spring 2026 tour replaced the five-year-long Rough and Rowdy Ways tour, with Dylan performing what fans believe to be his best show of the tour on March 31.
