Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen’s I Saw Her Standing There cover hailed as ‘amazing’

A cover of The Beatles’ I Saw Her Standing There performed by Paul McCartney, Stevie Van Zandt, and Bruce Springsteen has delighted listeners.

The performance of the hit track was called “amazing” by some who viewed footage of the show, which has been uploaded to YouTube. McCartney and Springsteen have joined one another on stage occasionally over their careers, and on this occasion performed The Beatles classic. The show, which took place in 2017, was part of the One on One tour. McCartney would perform forty songs on the night Springsteen and Stevie Van Zandt joined him on stage at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The performance had McCartney and Springsteen sharing vocal duties, and then they performed I Saw Her Standing There in full for a second time. Fans were thrilled by the performance, specifically the I Saw Her Standing There number. One person wrote: “Bruce Springsteen looks like a starstruck teenager who got a chance to play with the Real Boss, and who could blame him, playing with Paul McCartney can never be topped!”

Another added: “I would pay money to have this show recorded from start to finish. Maybe there’ll be a release some day. One can hope.” A third wrote: “You can tell Paul’s drummer can’t believe he’s playing on the same stage with Bruce.”

Others were astonished by the performance, particularly the instrument Springsteen was using for the show. One asked: “The Boss with a Les Paul. I wonder when was the last time he played one of those at a show?”

Another wrote: “The Boss rocking a Les Paul like his ol’ teenage self! Suits him well!” A third added: “I can see why Bruce rarely plays a Les Paul… keeps hitting the damn switch.”
