Gorillaz announce new album The Mountain featuring Sparks, Idles, and Mark E. Smith, with tour in 2026

Gorillaz has confirmed their new album, The Mountain, along with a UK and Ireland tour set for early next year.

The Damon Albarn-fronted group will perform in Manchester, Leeds, and Nottingham on their tour and conclude with a huge show at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. The Mountain announcement comes just two years after the release of Cracker Island. Gorillaz‘s upcoming album will be released on March 20, 2026, and The Mountain Tour will start on March 21 at the Co-Op Live Arena in Manchester. Trueno are set to open for the band on all shows apart from the Manchester and Birmingham performances. They, along with Sparks, will also serve as the opening act for the band at their Tottenham Hotspur Stadium show. An announcement for the band’s upcoming album was confirmed with a post to Instagram. The announcement follows a performance of the album in full at the Copper Box Arena in London.

Tickets for the tour are available from September 19, while the new album will be available from March 2022, 2026. A full tracklist and featured artists, including Idles, Mark E. Smith, and Sparks, can be found below.

An arena tour will follow the release of the album, taking place across March and April. A break in May will then be followed by a huge show in London on June 20. The dates can be found below.

News of a new album and UK and Ireland tour comes just a day after the band confirmed Kong Studios would return. An explanation of what Kong Studios is can be found on the official Gorillaz website.

It reads: “Kong Studios is the home of Gorillaz and a gamified fan experience where you can explore the rooms and spaces of 2D, Murdoc, Noodle and Russel. It’s also a place to go to find out everything you want to know about Gorillaz, first.”
