Pulp fans start petition for We Love Life Deluxe Edition with album anniversary next year

Pulp fans are hoping a community effort and petition will see the release of a deluxe edition of We Love Life.

The album, released in 2001, did not receive a deluxe repackaging like His ‘n’ Hers, Different Class, and This is Hardcore, though fans are hoping one could be possible. Songs from the We Love Life sessions, which have not been officially released, have circulated on YouTube and fan forums for years. Whether or not the Jarvis Cocker-fronted band will release a deluxe edition of We Love Life is not yet known. Pulp fans are hoping a fan initiative may be a step to realising the project, though, with a petition started by those wanting a deluxe edition. A post to the F.E.E.L.I.N.G. C.A.L.L.E.D. L.I.V.E. page has confirmed the petition will be sent to Universal and Rough Trade Records once it reaches 2,500 signatures.

Their post reads: “In 2001, Pulp released We Love Life, their fourth and final album for Island Records (now Universal). In 2006, their previous three albums for this label were reissued with bonus discs containing B-sides and unreleased material. Unfortunately, We Love Life has never been reissued, and as a result, many songs from this period remain unreleased.

“When 2,500 signatures have been received, this petition will be sent to Universal and Rough Trade Records to prove that there is demand for a deluxe edition of We Love Life and to ask them to consider releasing it.”

Songs from the We Love Life sessions have appeared following Pulp’s two reunion tours. After You, a song written during the We Love Life sessions, was released in 2013 while Got to Have Love featured on the band’s latest album, More. Early versions of both, as well as Cuckoo and The Quiet Revolution.

Rarities like Forever in My Dreams and Yesterday, which were released as B-sides, can be found on streaming services such as Spotify, but are not in a “deluxe” package like demos for His ‘n’ Hers and This is Hardcore.

Fans are hopeful a deluxe edition of We Love Life sees the light of day, with many taking to social media services like Twitter to share the petition. One user wrote: “I’d love this, but damn, I also want a Different Class 30th anniversary.”

Another added: “We Love Life, we need this deluxe edition to come alive!” A third shared: “Yes, I need this.” There is reportedly more to come from Pulp, with the band believed to have agreed to more tour dates in 2026. A concert film is also believed to be in the works, though this and the tour are yet to be officially announced.

Plans for 2026 come after a bumper year for the band, releasing their first album since We Love Life, More. Alongside this came a series of shows in the UK and Europe, the release of Mark Webber’s book, I’m With Pulp, Are You?, and the live debut of Last Day of the Miner’s Strike at Tramlines Festival.
