Bruce Springsteen fans believe Land of Hope and Dreams could be ‘the last’ for The E Street Band

Fans of the legendary musician Bruce Springsteen believe his current tour could be “the last” for his long-time band.

The E Street Band has backed The Boss consistently since the start of his career, though some fans believe the Land of Hope and Dreams tour could be the final bow for some of its members. Fans on the r/BruceSpringsteen subreddit were left wondering whether there would be any further concert dates from Springsteen and The E Street Band, with the group currently performing across Europe to make up for previously cancelled dates. A fan asked: “Another Bruce and The E Street Band UK tour? Just wanted to come on to see what people think is the likelihood of Bruce and The E Street Band doing another UK tour in the near future?”

The fan asked as they wanted to head to the shows on their own. Some are not convinced Springsteen and the band will return to the UK anytime soon, and if they do, it may be a more stripped-down show. One fan suggested: “You don’t need to be an actuary to take a guess at what age a guy can keep doing high-energy three-hour shows to. This may be your only chance- take it.”

Another added: “Like he’s said- he’ll he touring till he’s gone. But I can’t see it being full-scale E Street Band stadiums ever again. Too big a band, all getting old, and can’t promise that other members will want to spend their time in the same ways. If you can make it work, I absolutely think you should go for it!”

A third wrote: “Sadly I don’t think he will be back again soon. If you can make it to Liverpool, just do it.” Springsteen made headlines with both his Manchester and Liverpool shows, the former for taking aim at President Donald Trump and the latter for bringing Paul McCartney out on stage.

Others believe Springsteen could return to the UK, but without the backing of The E Street Band. One fan suggested: “Bruce and I are the same age. I would encourage you to get to Liverpool to see one of the shows… I pretty much doubt he’ll be back in the same configuration with The E Street Band.

“At our age, you see how few people can remain on the road. I think you’ll be able to pick up tickets, though they of course might not be the best ones.” Another added that, while the band may continue, a break in touring may be on the cards.

They wrote: “I definitely think he will take a break next year. This year has only really happened because of one night of horrendous weather in Sunderland causing some dates to be rearranged.”

A third wrote: “I think another full band tour is very unlikely – you only have to look at the Lille videos to see how exhausted Bruce looks, and it makes no sense economically to tour with one show per week.”
