Oasis fans who missed tickets to Heaton Park gig say they will ‘stand outside’ to hear show

Fans who missed out on tickets to Oasis‘ upcoming hometown shows say they will “stand outside” the venue and listen to the show.

A plan from r/Oasis subreddit members has been made, with some suggesting they will hang around the park in the hopes of hearing the gig. Similar plans were made by those who missed out on tickets, which were sold through a controversial dynamic pricing model, to the Wembley Stadium shows later this summer. A fan took to Reddit and asked: “Is anyone else going to Heaton Park just to stand outside? I’m trying to get my friends to come but they think it’s pointless if we can’t see the stage but you’ll definitely be able to hear them. Better than nothing.”

Fans have suggested they will be doing the same and then heading to the pub soon after the gig. One user wrote: “I’ve stood outside gigs in the past. It’s only a couple of hours, then you can hit the pub. I won’t be doing that in July, though. Because I’ve got a ticket. Just sayin’…”

Those who do not want to head to Heaton Park and loiter for a chance to hear Noel and Liam Gallagher belt out Wonderwall had other plans, though. One suggested “gig touts” outside the venue, though this is generally not advisable as void or tickets can be denied entry on the day.

Another user however suggested Oasis screen one of their gigs at the cinema. One user wrote: “I think Oasis should put one of their live performances live in the cinema for those who can’t get tickets.” There are no plans to stream any of the Oasis gigs at this time. There are also no plans for new material from the band, or any shows after the 2025 gigs, manager Alec McKinlay says.

Oasis fans are split on whether or not to sit outside of Heaton Park in the hopes of hearing the band. One user wrote: “This sounds grim.” Another added: “You should do it. I know I would.” A third joked: “Sure. Next you’ll be serenading your router to get a better wifi signal. Better than nothing.”

Others have suggested it may be worth giving it a go, though, as outdoor venues can have a better sound when sat near to the gigs. One user suggested: “Did similar in Amsterdam. Stood in a certain district and had a pocket tug. Friends said it was pointless and didn’t count but I saved myself some money.”

Another added: “I did this once for Stone Roses at Heaton Park. I lived round the corner and listened to about half the gig. Maybe just get in one of the pubs near by and sit in the beer garden.”

A third user confirmed this was their plan for the Murrayfield show. They wrote: “Yep, will unfortunately be doing this outside Murrayfield. As you say it’s better than nothing.”
