LCD Soundsystem has announced an eight-night residency at London’s O2 Academy Brixton will take place in June this year.
The band are said to be recording their fifth studio album, and will return to the UK for the first time since their main stage Glastonbury appearance and shows at The Barrowland Ballroom in Glasgow last year. The run of shows will take place from Thursday, June 12 to Sunday, June 15. A second run of four shows will take place from Thursday, June 19 to Sunday, June 22. It comes three years after the band sold out a six-night residency at the O2 Academy Brixton in 2022. LCD Soundsystem are working on a new album and have already been confirmed for Primavera Sound Festival later this summer. They have also released lead single X-Ray Eyes, which dropped in November last year.

The band had previously confirmed they were working on a new album, but have no idea when it will release. A statement posted to LCD Soundsystem’s Facebook page last year confirmed they were recording “what’s shaping up to be a new album” and released X-Ray Eyes as the lead single.
Murphy took to the group’s Facebook page and confirmed a new album is on its way, writing: “So there’s a new LCD song now called X-Ray Eyes. It’s the first single of what’s shaping up to be a new album. Don’t ask me when that is, because we’re still working on it. But it feels very good to be putting out new music.”
Those who want to get their hands on a 12″ print of X-Ray Eyes can do so – but copies are limited for the time being. “We made a small run of silkscreened 12″s that will sell at the upcoming LA and NYC shows, and DFA will have a limited grip of them, but don’t freak out if you don’t get one because there will be a more readily available commercial release of the same record when we can get it together,” Murphy confirmed.
