Alice Cooper has confirmed two tour dates in Wales and Scotland for later this year.
The Godfather of Shock Rock will play shows in Cardiff and Edinburgh later this year, with a statement from his team confirming the pair of shows, which are the only two for Wales and Scotland this year. There is no mention yet of England, Northern Ireland or Ireland shows. These are so far the only European dates for Cooper and both are fully seated.
It comes as Cooper continues touring latest album Road, with Cardiff and Edinburgh set to host the legendary frontman in July. Both dates can be found below, with Cooper’s appearance in Edinburgh marking his first at the venue in twenty years.
July 22 – Utilita Arena, Cardiff
July 23 – Playhouse, Edinburgh
Cooper’s concept album will be toured in Wales and Scotland and feature pre-recorded scenes to delve deeper into Road along with live performances of songs from the album, as well as classic tracks from his discography. A press release from Cooper’s team confirmed he would perform the likes of Poison, School’s Out and No More Mr Nice Guy.
Cooper said: “Cardiff and Edinburgh – you can’t escape! We missed you last year, but now we’re coming back. Alice would never let you down. Can’t wait to see all the Sick Things at our shows at Utilita Arena in Cardiff on July 22 and the Edinburgh Playhouse on July 23.”
Fresh from the success of his latest album Road, a concept album about the thrills and spills of touring, Cooper is back, accompanied as always by his long-running live band of Ryan Roxie (guitar), Chuck Garric (bass), Tommy Henrikson (guitar), Glen Sobel (drums), and Nita Strauss (guitar).
He said: “For Road, I wanted the band to be involved in the foundation of all the songs. I only see these guys when we’re on the road. So, I wanted them to be as tight as they are for the show but on all new material. When you have a band this good, I believe in showing it off, and this is my way of doing so.”
General tickets are on sale at 10am on Friday, January 31 and will be available from AXS, Ticketmaster, and AEGPresents.
