The Beach Boys has paid tribute to the “iconic coastlines” of California amid wildfires affecting the area.
Thousands of people are believed to have been evacuated from the area, including band member and music legend Brian Wilson. A statement from his team confirmed he, his family, and his pets, were safely evacuated from his California home. Fellow Beach Boys member Al Jardine provided a list of links to where people can donate to help those affected by the fires.
Now, a post to the official Beach Boys Facebook page has paid tribute to the “sunny beaches” which inspired their earliest hits, with the band sharing further links to where people can donate to help those affected by the devastating fires.
A statement from the band reads: “Southern California inspired us to write about sunny beaches, iconic coastlines, and vibrant communities — the home that shaped so much of who we are. Our hearts are with everyone affected by the wildfires.
“We are deeply saddened by the devastating fires affecting our Southern California community. Our hearts go out to everyone affected during this difficult time. To aid in relief efforts, we have compiled a list of resources for those seeking assistance and places to donate for those who can offer support.
“Together, we can help rebuild and restore what has been lost. Stay safe, take care of one another, and let’s come together as a community to heal.”
A list of resources and donation links, which can be found linked below, were shared by The Beach Boys account. Their links led to pages for the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, the California Fire Foundation, and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.
It comes after confirmation from Wilson’s team that the Pet Sounds legend had been evacuated from his home in California last week. A statement from his team reads: “Brian, his family and pets evacuated their home last Wednesday. Their hearts go out to everyone affected by the tragic Los Angeles fires.
“They want to thank the Los Angeles Fire Department and the other fire departments who have come from all over to help. They also want to send love to the selfless volunteers who jumped in to help and the amazing outpouring of support for the community.”
It comes as fellow musicians and artists evacuate their homes amid the ongoing wildfire. Independent artist Christina Holland and her partner, Charlie Weinmann, have had over £35,000 raised for them after their home in Altadena was burnt down, along with most of their belongings.
A GoFundMe page for the couple, which can be found here, reads: “They evacuated their home urgently on the night of 01/07/25 with the bare minimum. They lost everything they owned and cherished, including cameras, musical instruments, bicycles, camping gear, tools, all their clothing & home furnishings, and their beloved camper van. Not to mention everything that comes with making a home.
“The couple had planned to use the home as their creative sanctuary, hoping to build their dream careers in 2025. The space was small but beautiful, and now they need help getting on their feet as they search for what’s next.
“Currently displaced, these funds will be used to help Christina and Charlie cover expenses as they navigate meeting immediate needs, finding a new home, and assisting their beloved community in recovery from this historic devastation.”
