Hard it is to stand out in the rock genre, Forgetting the Future makes ridiculously easy work of it with new track Cigarettes, Cigarettes, Cigarettes.
There is upbeat creativity in those opening guitar strums, they are harsh and jab at the eardrums with successful, attention-grabbing charm.
That charm and slick, upbeat sound is embellished by strong lyrics, worked over with relatable and gifted lyrics that lament the hard times and health.
Forgetting the Future stick together a track here that will hold its own in a cultural arena hoping to understand the world around them, with those tough days clarified with an engaged intensity.
Upbeat stylistics do well to disguise the real depth and intrigue of Cigarettes, Cigarettes, Cigarettes, where guitar riffs provide moments of clarity and lyrics exclaim a real rock unity.
Anyone can engage with Cigarettes, Cigarettes, Cigarettes, a lived-in song of corner shops, hoodies and desperation flowing through with a biting, stylish reflection.
